Paris Around the Clock

Nachtleben an der Seine, | Parisian nightlife.Paris knowns how to celebrate an all-night-party! There are whole party quartiers, among them above all Montmartre with its red-light atmosphere or the Marais around Les Halles with its uncountable public houses. The student district Quartier Latin, which is beautiful also at night, offers many pubs and snack bars in old, narrow, crooked lanes. Already for a longer time the Bastille quartier orientates itself with several discotheques on adventuresome night-revellers, too. Here you find also modern techno temples. Noble establishments for the important ones of this world or those who think to be it are located in another place, of course: You finde them around the Champs-Élysées as well as the Palais Royal.

Please mention that the métro has its service break each weekend night from 2:15 until 5 a.m. and that no trains travel. Also the bus traffic is strongly reduced; only the so-called «Noctambus'» operate the biggest métro stops in town (tickets available from the driver).

«L'Officiel des Spectacles», «Pariscope».Tip: To get informations about almost every event in and around Paris it is the easiest way to buy one of the tradition-rich event magazines «Pariscope» (€ 0,40) and «L’Officiel des Spectacles» (€ 0,35). Both were publicated always on Wednesdays, are absolutely recommendable and available at every kiosk in Paris. Included are e.g. also a completely survey of the current cinema programme, previews onto the coming premieres and partially reviews, too.

Das Crazy Horse. | The Crazy Horse.Crazy Horse

Rezension(en) im Archiv. | Review(s) at the archives.Alain Bernhardin is the creator of the «Art de Nu», the «Art of Nacked». In 1951 he set up the Crazy Horse, which plays its wickedness excellently to the spectators. Bernhardin was fascinated by the America of the cowboys and the Wild West. From here originated is also his idea to show something different from the Moulin Rouge or the Lido: Striptease non-stop! Since Alain's death in 1996 his children Didier, Sophie und Pascal lead the establishment. But the style of the Crazy Horse remains: He is based on the intimate atmosphere in the small theatre which is dominated by red velvet. Except large-scaled lightings the room allows still no big special effects, if wanted or not.

Today the Crazy Horse is more institution that brand: There are international tours and permanent guest-performances like in 1999 and 2000 in the Monte-Carlo casino. Since 2001 a second unit presents itself as perfect copy of the Parisian original in the MGM Grand of Las Vegas – exactly in the prudish America! Since 2004 runs the show «Taboo!» in the avenue George V in the noble 8th arrondissmenet.
